Transmitter Antenna
What are these fancy wireless transmitter?
I have seen a lot of photographers, like skate photographers with these wireless transmitters with all these wires/antennas coming out of it. I have seen a few wireless transmitters on websites that carry camera stuff, such as the PocketWizard MultiMAX Transceiver.
So my essential question is, what do these fancy wireless transmitters do? Do they still work for off camera flashes? Also, where could I find one that a skate photographer is using?
It's a remote trigger for the camera.
You put the camera where you think it will get the best picture and when you think you're in the right place, press the button in your hand and the camera fires.
The camera will fire any flashes used.
You have to get the right trigger for the camera. The recievers plug into the camera and usually fit on the camera's hotshoe. Some offer 4 or 16 channels, this is so that if someone else is using one you can make sure that their triggers don't fire your camera.
