This question is about the best way to mount your Harley Sportster on the back of your 5th Wheel........?
..I've been told that it isn't possible to mount a Harley Sportster flush on the rear of a 5th wheel. I don't accept this as final and am asking the Answers community if there is anyone out there who has done so, and the details of how you did it. Please do not answer if you have no clue as to what you're talking about, ok?
Additionally, your answer must address the increased weight issue on the rear of the 5th wheel-how to compensate for that?
There are several companies in the USA that make hydraulic lifts so you can carry your motorcycle on the rear of a motor home. Some of these lifts are rated for more than 1000 lbs, so I don't see any real problem with installing a similar lift on the back of your 5th wheel trailer.
My big concern would be not overloading the total weight capacity (GVWR) of the trailer, and also you may have to add some extra weight to the front of the trailer to counterbalance the bike on the rear. Maybe an extra water tank under the bed in the front of the trailer.
OR... Have you considered a 5th-wheel toy hauler? That way you can haul your Hog inside, safe and in style, and fools like chopperchopster will never know!
